Olanrewaju Ashiru

Olanrewaju Ashiru is an accomplished Risk Management, Finance and Project Management Executive whose experience encompasses pivotal executive roles as a change agent and strategist that leverages finance, investment, risk management, project management and operational expertise to implement competitive business strategies and value creation.

Olanrewaju has over twenty-five (25) years of core banking experience spanning across Risk Management, Investment Banking/Asset Management, Financial Control, Treasury & Banking Operations, Product Development, Commercial and Public Sector Business areas. He is an astute professional with proven track record in a variety of sophisticated projects; valued in excess of one billion US Dollars, including several mergers & acquisitions across power, telecommunications and manufacturing ventures as well as technological innovations in the field of transportation and financial services.

Until recently, Olanrewaju was a member of the Steering Committee of Lagos MSME Recovery Fund where he worked closely with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and Ministry of Commerce to reinvigorate the growth and recovery trajectory of MSME businesses in Lagos State, Nigeria from the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as political and economic headwinds.

He currently serves as the chief executive officer at Clarion Business Services Limited (CBSL); a business consultancy and investment vehicle which specializes in financial advisory, business consulting, risk management and project management advisory.

He also holds several key advisory roles for some of the major emerging companies and non-profit organisations in Nigeria and United States of America as a business consultant and/or risk management strategist. He has held many speaking engagements for organisations in his capacity as a strategist and an opinion leader in personal development, business, the economy and other specialized roles.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Banking and Finance from the Ogun State University, Nigeria and Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree (with further specialization in Finance) from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) as well as holds a certification in Project Management from the PM College, United Kingdom and a Professional Leadership Diploma from the African Leadership Development Centre (ALDC), Covenant University, Nigeria. He is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School.

He has attended several trainings both locally and internationally across various areas of personal development, leadership, finance, banking operations, management, business strategy, contracting laws and negotiation. He is an avid reader focusing on the Business/Finance field and sees himself as a considered and effective decision-maker.
